The Spring Creek Gators will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Beddingfield Bruins at 7:00 p.m. Spring Creek is out to stop a 14-game streak of losses at home dating back to last season.
Last Thursday, Spring Creek suffered a tough 29-6 defeat at the hands of Goldsboro.
Meanwhile, Beddingfield unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of Princeton by a score of 24-21.
Despite the loss, Beddingfield saw an underclassman step up: Jamauris Howard picked up 186 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Howard's longest reception was for an incredible 71 yards. Samuel Finch was another key contributor, throwing for 221 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 passes.
The losses dropped Spring Creek to 0-9 and Beddingfield to 5-4.
Spring Creek was taken down by Beddingfield 48-6 when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Thankfully for Spring Creek, Malik Woodard (who rushed for 145 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
