The numbers might not have changed much, but the postseason is here and brought about plenty of gameday action in the power rankings this week. We'll tackle that and more in this week's report.
Can't Touch This
Madison's 44 - 7 win over Richard last week had a lot to do with the leadership of senior Austin Brown. Brown rushed for 197 yards and three touchdowns. That performance made Brown one of the best players in the power rankings last week.
This Week's Big Showdown
One of last week's main attractions was the confrontation between West Bloomfield and Belleville, 6th and 2nd in the power rankings, respectively. West Bloomfield couldn't quite keep up with Belleville and ended up losing 13 - 10. West Bloomfield will need to regroup quickly to avoid another defeat since it is the underdog in its next matchup.
No Stoppin 'Em
Groves has been an offensive powerhouse for three straight weeks after the team lit up the scoreboard again last week. It breezed past Franklin with a final score of 53 - 29. Groves did have the odds in its favor, but the team did even better than the MaxPreps state rankings indicated. At 82 total points, this was the highest scoring power ranking game of the week.
Next Week's Big Game
If you are itching to watch a first-rate contest, no game is supposed to fit the bill better than the one between Chippewa Valley (1st in the power rankings) and Belleville (2nd). The teams have their eyes fixed on the championship after last-week playoff conquests. Only one team will win this week, so we'll find out which team fails to repeat its success.
