Given 21st Century Charter's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 129th, while South Bend Career Academy is ranked 392nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
21st Century Charter got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Elijah Musaddiq out in front who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Musaddiq has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Terrence Hayes, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds and six steals.
Gary West Side has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They received a tough blow on Saturday as they fell 69-51 to Tindley.
21st Century Charter is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. As for Gary West Side, their loss dropped their record down to 10-4.
