Liberty is 2-8 against Sherando since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Eagles will look to defend their home field against the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. Liberty is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
Sherando will be up against a hot Liberty squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Eagles came out on top against Meridian by a score of 8-3 on Tuesday.
Jairo Contreras Leon made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Liberty is undefeated when Contreras Leon posts two or more runs, but 4-5 otherwise.

In other pitching news, Liberty got a great performance from Evan Perry as he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits. That's the most strikeouts Perry has posted since back in March.
Back at the plate, Brayden Wren and Nickolas Moline did most of the damage at the plate: Wren went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Moline went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Sherando fell victim to Kettle Run and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars. The Warriors have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Liberty's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Sherando, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6.
Liberty came out on top in a nail-biter against Sherando when the teams last played back in May of 2025, sneaking past 3-2. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
