Jake Dorsi Crosses Big Stat Threshold
Starting off the list is Savanna's Jake Dorsi, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Dorsi rushed for 176 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.3 yards per carry. The performance once again pushed his average rushing yardage north of 100 yards per game (105.4).
Unfortunately for Magnolia, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Dorsi. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Dorsi saw the Sentinels), he rushed for 114 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries, and also picked up 101 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Kamari Smith Puts an End to Magnolia's Losing Streak on Thursday
Magnolia's nine-game losing streak dating back to last season is now nothing but a memory thanks in part to Kamari Smith. Savanna had no answer to Smith on Thursday as he rushed for 96 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries, and also threw for 11 yards and a touchdown. Smith also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack and making four total tackles.
Magnolia's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-6. Smith and Magnolia will take on Century at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Derricks Cline Goes Supernova in Magnolia Victory
Magnolia's nine-game losing streak dating back to last season is now nothing but a memory thanks in part to Derricks Cline. Cline turned in nothing short of a gem on Thursday, picking up 81 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Godinez Fundamental had to settle for second on Friday, but Jairo Guterrez sure wasn't going down easily. Guterrez was dynamite, picking up 42 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Godinez Fundamental now has a losing record at 3-4. Guterrez and Godinez Fundamental will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Magnolia at 7:00 p.m. on October 18th.
