The Canyon del Oro Dorados fought the good fight in their overtime  match against the Pueblo Warriors  on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell  58-49 to the Warriors. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Canyon del Oro came into the  game with a sizable advantage  in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings  (they are ranked 76th, while Pueblo is ranked 248th).
 Canyon del Oro's loss  came despite strong showings from  Mykael Nunez and  Will Dixion.  Nunez  scored 21 points along with eight  rebounds and two  steals, while  Dixion  scored 13 points along with two  blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points  Nunez has scored all season.  Isaiah Gill was another key contributor,  scoring four points along with two  steals.
 Pueblo got their  victory on the backs of several key players, but it was  Aiden Cruz out in front who  scored 11 points along with five  rebounds. Another player making a difference was  Jacob Maya, who  scored seven points along with nine  assists and four  steals.
 Canyon del Oro has  not been sharp recently, as they've  lost four of their last five contests,  which put a noticeable dent in their 16-7 record this season. As for Pueblo, their win bumped their record up to 5-18.
 Canyon del Oro will look to defend their home court  on Friday against Salpointe Catholic at 7:00  p.m. As for Pueblo, they will head out on the road to  square off against  Cholla at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The timing is sure in Cholla's favor as the  team sits on three straight wins at home while Pueblo has been banged up by ten consecutive losses on the road.
