Logan Beegle threw for four touchdowns as
Bandys (Catawba, N.C.) upset
West Lincoln (Lincolnton, N.C.) 34-7 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a field goal by
Travis Kiser, the Rebels went into halftime with a 20-18 lead. The Trojans took the lead to win the game on a field goal by Kiser in the first quarter.
Bandys locked in the win by scoring zero points in the fourth quarter to push the final margin to 27.
West Lincoln's only touchdown came on a 2-yard run by
Tracey Messer in the first quarter.
BHS came in allowing an average of 27.4 points per game this season.
The win was a nice bounce back for the Catawba school, which lost to Bunker Hill last week, 34-6. The win broke Bandys' three-game losing streak.
In a 2A Conference 3 game next week West Lincoln (7-3) takes on East Lincoln, and Bandys (4-6) will go up against Newton-Conover also in a 2A Conference 3 game.
