After flying high against the East Paulding Raiders on Tuesday, the Cartersville Hurricanes came back down to earth. Cartersville was the victim of a rough 73-51 defeat at the hands of Harrison on Thursday. Cartersville lost against Harrison in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 62-52 score last time.
Cartersville's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaytlin Arnold, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoie Shiflett, who scored 8 points.
Cartersville's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Harrison, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.
Cartersville will head out on the road to face off against Northwest Whitfield at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Harrison, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Calhoun at 3:00 p.m.
