Centura has struggled against Central City recently, as their matchup on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Centura's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Barrett Fries, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds. The match was Fries' third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Tyus Francl, who scored nine points.
Centura's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Central City, their victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Centura won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Fillmore Central at 5:45 p.m. on December 9th. Fillmore Central presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Centura in Nebraska (Fillmore Central is ranked 17th, while Centura is ranked 220th). As for Central City, they will head out on the road to face off against Minden at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Minden focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Saturday.
