The Great Mills Hornets waltzed into their match on Wednesday with five straight wins but they left with six. They walked away with a 54-41 win over Westlake. That's another feather in the cap for Great Mills, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Great Mills had a senior duo take command as A'naija Bush scored 23 points along with five rebounds and four steals and Telisa Adams scored ten points along with eight steals and six assists. Adams is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Beatrice De santo, who scored three points.
Great Mills used a slightly different lineup for their bout with Westlake. And. De santo made the most of the opportunity, scoring three points. A few more games like that and she might be seeing even more time going forward.
When it comes to explaining why Westlake lost, one person who can't be blamed is Raynna Ratchford. Despite the final result, she scored 18 points. Another player making a difference was Caila Alexander, who scored 11 points.
Great Mills' win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points per game. As for Westlake, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.
