Rockford lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ellen Gordee, who scored six points. Evelyn Engebretson was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Central's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Rockford, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central will take on Glencoe-Silver Lake at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Glencoe-Silver Lake presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Central in Minnesota (Glencoe-Silver Lake is ranked 112th, while Central is ranked 231st). Rockford will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against New London-Spicer at 7:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
