After both having extra time off, the Atlee Raiders and the Caroline Cavaliers will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Atlee barely beat Henrico the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Raiders' pitcher stepped up to hand the Warriors a 14-0 shutout last Thursday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Raiders' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Sierra Kegley made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Shannon McKeever was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Camdyn Metts, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.
Meanwhile, Caroline put another one in the bag last Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Freeman 9-0.
Not much got past Jaidyn Tingen, who gave up just five hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Freeman off the board.
On the hitting side, Caroline let Jordyn Wilkerson and Kami Hartsell run wild. Wilkerson scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4, while Hartsell scored a run while going 3-for-3. Alyssa Bray was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
Caroline was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .457. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Freeman only posted a batting average of .174.
Caroline's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Atlee, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
Atlee came out on top in a nail-biter against Caroline in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Will the Raiders repeat their success, or do the Cavaliers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
