The Southland Christian FLAMES will head out on the road to face off against the Poinciana Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Southland Christian is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.

Derek Lopez continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 19 points along with 5 rebounds. The matchup was his fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Michael Pellot, who scored 7 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals.
Meanwhile, Poinciana took care of business in their home opener on Monday (and then some). They blew past North Kissimmee Christian 80-45 at home.
Jordan Issac went supernova for Poinciana, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 10 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier McCray, who scored 12 points.
Southland Christian's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Poinciana, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Southland Christian have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 28.8 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Poinciana struggles in that department as they've been even better at 50 per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
