Cripple Creek-Victor suffered their biggest loss since December 1, 2023 on Tuesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 58-32 walloping at the hands of Pikes Peak Christian. Cripple Creek-Victor has struggled against Pikes Peak Christian recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite their loss, Cripple Creek-Victor saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Allyson Durham, who scored 11 points, was perhaps the best of all. Savanna Kisseberth was another key contributor, scoring four points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, Miami-Yoder had to suffer through a rough 47-20 loss at the hands of Hi-Plains. Miami-Yoder was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-8.
Natalie Tinoco put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored three points along with five rebounds and five steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played.
Cripple Creek-Victor has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season. As for Miami-Yoder, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
Saturday's contest is shaping up to be a scrappy matchup: Cripple Creek-Victor haven't given up the ball easily this season, having only averaged 5.4 turnovers per game. It's a different story for Miami-Yoder, though, as they've been averaging 29 turnovers per game. Given Cripple Creek-Victor's sizeable advantage in that area, Miami-Yoder will need to find a way to close that gap.
Cripple Creek-Victor won a contest that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, slipping by Miami-Yoder 32-31.
