The Monarch Royals will head out on the road to square off against the School for Entrepreneurship & Technology Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Monarch will be strutting in after a victory while the Lions will be coming in after a loss.
Monarch scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Health Sciences 70-34 at home. The win was some much needed relief for Monarch as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Monarch's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Chris Prado led the charge by scoring 20 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Another player making a difference was Geremiah Lindstrom, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, School for Entrepreneurship & Technology's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight defeat. They took a serious blow against San Diego Academy, falling 58-16.
Monarch's win bumped their record up to 13-8. As for School for Entrepreneurship & Technology, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-17.
Everything came up roses for Monarch against the Lions when the teams last played back in January as the squad secured a 66-15 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Monarch since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
