Meanwhile, La Jolla unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a hard 69-53 fall against Mira Mesa.
Point Loma will have to contain Lance Braga as he made an impact in La Jolla's last game. He went 9 for 15 en route to 18 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. Those three steals gave Braga a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Carson Diehl, who posted six points and ten rebounds.
Even though they lost, La Jolla smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in five consecutive games.
Point Loma's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.8 points per game. As for La Jolla, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-3.
