Baseball Recap: Pikeview Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

While PikeView put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Nicholas County. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over the Grizzlies. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since March 24, 2022, but that streak is no more.

Not much got past Landon Bolen, who gave up just a hit and racked up six Ks to keep Nicholas County off the board. Bolen has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Drew Damewood, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Trenton Tolliver, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

PikeView's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-9. As for Nicholas County, their loss dropped their record down to 11-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. PikeView will square off against Summers County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Nicholas County, they will face off against Princeton at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
