Exeter is 1-8 against Lindsay since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Exeter Monarchs will be staying on the road to face off against the Lindsay Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on December 19th. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Last Saturday, it was a hard-fought game, but Exeter had to settle for a 41-39 loss against Caruthers.
Despite the loss, Exeter got a solid performance out of Andrew Taylor, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Blaine Mcfall, who scored six points along with ten rebounds and six blocks.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Lindsay, who are still winless after their fifth game. They were dealt a 54-21 defeat at the hands of Highland two weeks ago. While losing is never fun, Lindsay can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1330th, while Highland is ranked 424th).
Exeter's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Lindsay, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.
Exeter came up short against Lindsay in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, falling 61-55. Can Exeter avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
