Islip put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They enjoyed a cozy 58-43 victory over the Miller Place Panthers. The Buccaneers pushed the score to 53-24 by the end of the third, a deficit the Panthers cut but never quite recovered from.

Miller Place's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ava Zicchinelli, who posted nine points along with seven boards and four steals. The dominant performance also gave Zicchinelli a new career-high in assists (three). Julie Orenzo was another key player, going 5 of 12 on her way to 13 points.

Islip's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Miller Place, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.
