When it comes to explaining why Apache Junction lost on Saturday, one person who can't be blamed is Omar Adam. Despite the final result, he scored 18 points. Adam scored a full 50% of Apache Junction's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Gila Ridge has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 4-12 record this season. As for Apache Junction, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gila Ridge's road trip will continue as they head out to face Yuma at 7:00 p.m. on January 8th. The timing is sure in Yuma's favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while Gila Ridge has been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season. As for Apache Junction, they will take on Coronado at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
