Baseball Recap: Moore Haven Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Moore Haven can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They put the hurt on the Donahue Catholic Shamrocks with a sharp 11-1 win. The Terriers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by ten runs or more this season.

THAD JOHNS made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Moore Haven let BRYCE CRUMB and MANNY RODRIGUEZ run wild. CRUMB scored two runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances, while RODRIGUEZ scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Those stolen bases were CRUMB's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of COLT RHYMES, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Moore Haven always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They are 4-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Moore Haven's record is now 4-5. As for Donahue Catholic, their record now sits at 2-2.

Moore Haven will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against The Village School of Naples at 6:00 p.m. on March 25th. As for Donahue Catholic, they will challenge Immokalee at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Donahue Catholic has given up an average of 8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
