The Eastern Eagles will take on the Collins Titans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Eastern is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.

Things were looking good for Eastern after they put the first run on the board on Wednesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pleasure Ridge Park.

Ethan Carroll made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Meanwhile, Collins was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 11-6 to Spencer County. That's two games in a row now that the Titans have lost by exactly five runs.

Collins also got a good showing from Preston Miller, who tossed 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits.

At the plate, Lukas Cox was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Nolan Faulkner, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and two doubles.

Eastern has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-6 record this season. As for Collins, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Eastern hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Collins struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
