The Linden Lions will face off against the Calaveras Red Hawks at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Linden will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Linden is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Lindhurst with a sharp 17-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Cambel Dunn tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 15 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Katie Schallberger, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Audrey Pitt, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Linden kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Calaveras was able to grind out a solid victory over Orestimba on Wednesday, taking the game 6-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Red Hawks.
Kamryn Thornburg spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on one hit and racked up 15 Ks.
On the hitting side, Calaveras got a big performance out of Carlee Jasper, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Alexa Ortega also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Linden's win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-6. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Calaveras, their record is now 16-7-1.
Linden came out on top in a nail-biter against Calaveras in their previous meeting last Tuesday, sneaking past 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
