Basketball Recap: Terra Ceia Christian Skates Past Calvary Baptist Church with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Terra Ceia Christian). They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat the Calvary Baptist Church Eagles 81-19. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 31 points or more this season.

Terra Ceia Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Seth Meijer out in front who went 9 for 13 on his way to 18 points in addition to five boards and three blocks. Meijer has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Tripp Elliot, who went 5 of 7 en route to 11 points and six steals.

Terra Ceia Christian's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Calvary Baptist Church, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Terra Ceia Christian will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Ahoskie Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Calvary Baptist Church also won't see the court for a while: their next matchup is against Mount Calvary Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025.
