Basketball Game Preview: First Christian Lions vs. Open Bible Christian

The First Christian Lions will head out to square off against Open Bible Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. First Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.8 points per game this season.

On Friday, First Christian didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Redeemer Christian, but they still walked away with a 46-42 win.

Reagan Davis was her usual excellent self, dropping a triple-double on 30 points, 14 boards, and 14 steals. The match was her fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrianna Graham, who posted eight points and 11 rebounds.

First Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in six consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Open Bible Christian waltzed into their game on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They claimed a resounding 36-3 victory over the Warriors. Open Bible Christian has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 20 points or more this season.

Open Bible Christian's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-2. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 21.7 points per game. As for First Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season.

Everything came up roses for First Christian against Open Bible Christian in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 58-22 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for First Christian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
