Basketball Game Preview: Tarrant Wildcats vs. Dora Bulldogs

The Tarrant Wildcats will face off against the Dora Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Tarrant is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Holy Family Catholic: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Tarrant blew Holy Family Catholic out of the water with an 88-32 final score. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 21 points or more this season.

Jamaureu Berry continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 7 of 10 en route to 18 points and three steals. His evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kalvin Walker, who went 6 of 7 on his way to 15 points.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Dora, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They walked away with a 56-48 win over Hanceville on Tuesday.

Tarrant better keep an eye on Chijioke Washington. He was instrumental in Dora's win, going 9 of 14 on his way to 19 points and six rebounds. Those 19 points gave Washington a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Bartley Black, who posted nine points.

Dora's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-12. As for Tarrant, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Tarrant against Dora when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as the team secured an 84-52 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tarrant since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
