Bowsher hasn't had much luck against Start recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Rebels will head out on the road to take on the Spartans at 5:00 p.m. Bowsher will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
The home team had come away the winner the last six times Bowsher and Northwood had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Rebels' pitcher stepped up to hand the Rangers a 13-0 shutout on Saturday. The game marked the Rebels' most dominant win of the season so far.
Bryson Allison made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Allison was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs.
In other batting news, Donovan McClellan was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Sean Hartford was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.
Bowsher always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .639. The last time their OBP was this high was back in May of 2025.
Meanwhile, Start hadn't done well against Rossford recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Spartans blew past the Bulldogs 21-8. The victory was some much needed relief for the Spartans as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Bowsher's record is now 4-2. As for Start, their record now sits at 2-5.
Bowsher's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's matchup. The Rebels have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.5 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Start, though, as they've been averaging only 1.1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Bowsher continue to outrun the ball?
Bowsher couldn't quite finish off Start when the teams last played back in May of 2025 and fell 2-0. Can the Rebels avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
