After flying high against Highland View Academy last Tuesday, the Shenandoah Valley Academy Stars came back down to earth. Shenandoah Valley Academy was outmatched by the Tigers at home and fell 78-47.
Despite the loss, Shenandoah Valley Academy still got an impressive performance from Avery Browne, who scored 17 points along with two steals. Browne has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Emmanuel Matagaro, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Shenandoah Valley Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Takoma Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.
Shenandoah Valley Academy will head out on the road to square off against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Takoma Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against the at 7:00 p.m.
