Whitehall-Yearling is 4-0 against Eastmoor Academy since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Whitehall-Yearling Rams will head out on the road to take on the Eastmoor Academy Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Whitehall-Yearling pushed their score all the way to 73 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They received a tough blow as they fell 90-73 to Worthington Christian. While losing is never fun, Whitehall-Yearling can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 494th, while Worthington Christian is ranked 128th).
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Eastmoor Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. The game between them and Africentric Early College wasn't particularly close, with Eastmoor Academy falling 65-49. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Eastmoor Academy in their matchups with Africentric Early College: they've now lost eight in a row.
Eastmoor Academy's defeat came about despite a quality game from Elijah Watkins, who scored 22 points. Another player making a difference was Stephon Simpkins, who scored eight points.
Whitehall-Yearling's record is now 6-14. Eastmoor Academy's record now sits at 9-11.
Whitehall-Yearling didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Eastmoor Academy in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a 60-55 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Whitehall-Yearling since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
