The East Coweta Indians pushed their score all the way to 62 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Carrollton 66-62. East Coweta has struggled against Carrollton recently, as their match on Thursday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Indians players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Qwes Williams, who scored 19 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Williams hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Carby Martin, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds.
East Coweta's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Carrollton, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Coweta will take on Pebblebrook at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (Pebblebrook is ranked 113th, while East Coweta is ranked 134th). As for Carrollton, they will head out on the road to take on Langston Hughes at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
