After trading leads five times,
Pickens (Jasper, Ga.) snatched the lead for good when it threw a touchdown in the third quarter, paving the way for victory over
Cedartown (Ga.) 54-35.
After taking the lead on a rushing touchdown, the Bulldogs went into halftime with a 7-0 lead. The Dragons scored the winning points with a passing touchdown that came in the third quarter.
Pickens' standout player in the win was
Tanner Brumby. The junior quarterback ran for one touchdown. He has now scored five touchdowns on the season.
The victory is a complete turnaround from last season's game between these two teams, which Cedartown took, 48-27.
In a AAAA Region 7A game next week Cedartown (4-3) takes on Cass, and Pickens (4-2) will go up against Gilmer also in a AAAA Region 7A game.
