The Harrison County Thorobreds/Fillies will square off against the Woodford County Yellowjackets at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Woodford County took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Harrison County, who comes in off a win.
On Thursday, Harrison County earned an 8-4 victory over Great Crossing.

Shyanne Ross made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 16 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Allison Dye, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 13 runs the game before, Woodford County was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They lost 11-1 to Male.
Woodford County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lily Slayton, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.
Woodford County's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-13-1. As for Harrison County, their win bumped their record up to 29-6.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Harrison County hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .399. However, it's not like Woodford County struggles in that department as they've averaged .320. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Harrison County's way against Woodford County in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Harrison County made off with a 15-7 victory. Will the Thorobreds/Fillies repeat their success, or do the Yellowjackets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
