Freedom came out on top against Morgan on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run third inning. The Patriots blew past the Mustangs 8-0. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won eight matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Morgan's batters probably weren't too happy with Gaige Spano, who pitched a no hitter and racked up eight Ks (he gave up zero walks). Spano has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Freedom got a massive performance out of Logan Handville, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave Handville a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Devon Acord, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Freedom was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .424. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Morgan only posted a batting average of .000.

The win made it two in a row for Freedom and bumps their season record up to 14-7. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-16 King and 2-17 Morgan. As for Morgan, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 13 of their last 14 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-17 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Freedom will take on King at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Lions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.71 runs per game on average), something the Patriots will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Morgan, they will square off against Bayshore at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bruins have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season.
