The Clark County Indians's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fifth straight loss. They fell 66-53 to Canton. Clark County has struggled against Canton recently, as their matchup on Monday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Canton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Preston Brewer led the charge by dropping a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it ten consecutive games in which Brewer has scored at least 25% of Canton's points. Another player making a difference was Kaden Oliver, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds.
Clark County's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Canton, their win bumped their record up to 8-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clark County will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Monroe City at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th. As for Canton, they will head out on the road to face off against Highland at 7:30 p.m. on January 9th. Highland will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 377th, while Canton is ranked 164th).
