The Tamaqua Raiders will head out to square off against the Blue Mountain Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Tamaqua will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Our Lady of Lourdes Regional on Thursday. The Raiders were the clear victors by an 11-5 margin over the Red Raiders. The Raiders not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 1st (when they won 13-3).
Peyton Faust spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 14 Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Nico Conahan, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, three doubles, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Ceanna Gormley, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.
Meanwhile, Blue Mountain waltzed into their game on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Cougars a 4-0 shutout.
The result came thanks to Emily Leonard's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Addyson Fishburn was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run. She has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last nine times she's played. Anna Borden was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Tamaqua's record now sits at 10-8. As for Blue Mountain, their record is now 15-1.
Tamaqua couldn't quite get it done against Blue Mountain in their previous matchup on April 2nd as they fell 5-1. Can the Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
