Baseball Recap: Casteel Wins Going Away Against O'connor

Casteel won the last time they faced O'Connor and things went their way on Thursday too. The Colts put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 12-2 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Colts.

Evan Hedlund looked comfortable as he struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Andres Armenta was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Ryne Barker, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs.

Casteel always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .628. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as O'Connor only posted an OBP of .250.

Casteel's record now sits at 2-0. As for O'Connor, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Casteel will host Brophy College Prep at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. The Broncos' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Colts' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for O'Connor, they will welcome Basha at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles are facing the Bears at the right time seeing as the Bears are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
