After flying high against the Indianola Warriors last Friday, the Midway Chargers came back down to earth. Midway took a 46-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Gans on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Midway of the 71-44 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2023.
Several Chargers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Gavin Durrett, who scored 11 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristen Wolfe, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Midway has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. As for Gans, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-11.
Midway is on the road again on Friday and plays Schulter at 6:00 p.m. on February 9th. Hopefully Midway focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Monday. As for Gans, they will head out on the road to challenge Webbers Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Webbers Falls is coming into the game with five straight victories at home, meaning Gans will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory.
