The Antelope Valley Antelopes's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 71-25 loss at the hands of Quartz Hill. Antelope Valley was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-14.
Several Antelopes players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Deshawn Lewis, who scored nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Khemond Kennedy, who scored nine points.
Leading Quartz Hill to victory were Julian Henriquez and Jaidyn Norman. Henriquez scored 20 points, while Norman almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Henriquez has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jerimiah Williams, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Antelope Valley's defeat was their tenth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-19. As for Quartz Hill, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-10.
Antelope Valley will head out on the road to take on the Hawks at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Knight has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 570 points over their last eight contests. As for Quartz Hill, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
