Basketball Recap: Durham Academy Takes a Loss

Durham Academy lost against Charlotte Latin back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Cavaliers took a 64-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hawks.

Despite the loss, Durham Academy still got an impressive performance from Josh Dorsette, who went 7-for-11 en route to 21 points and three steals. Dorsette has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Rem Frasher, who posted 13 points.

Charlotte Latin's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Emory Chaney led the charge by shooting 64% from the field on his way to 24 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Dauska, who went 6-for-14 to rack up 18 points and seven boards.

Durham Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Charlotte Latin, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Durham Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 71-61 defeat against Providence Day on the 6th. As for Charlotte Latin, they have also already played their next matchup, a 60-55 victory against Ravenscroft on the 6th.
