The Byron Eagles will challenge the New Lothrop Hornets at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Byron's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.
On Tuesday, Byron needed a bit of extra time to put away Coleman. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 12-11 victory over the Comets. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by just one run.

Mckenna Zervan was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Zervan was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addie Panula, who went 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Gracie McDowell was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, after a string of eight wins, New Lothrop's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Owosso. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Hornets' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Byron pushed their record up to 6-6 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for New Lothrop, their loss dropped their record down to 11-4.
Byron might still be hurting after the 15-1 defeat they got from New Lothrop in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
