It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Camden County Wildcats had no problem doing just that on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 39-20 win over the Hawks. Camden County's victory was all the more impressive since Mill Creek was averaging only 17 points allowed on the season.
Camden County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Antonio Laws led the charge by rushing for 95 yards and three touchdowns. Camden County also got a significant boost from Jaden Dailey, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 168 yards.
Despite the loss, Mill Creek still got an impressive performance from Cameron Robinson, who rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns.
The win (which was Camden County's fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-3. As for Mill Creek, their loss ended a 16-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-1.
Camden County is on the road again on Friday and play against Walton at 7:30 p.m. on December 1st. Walton is on a six-game streak of home wins, Camden County a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field. Mill Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
