Lake Braddock is 8-2 against West Springfield since January of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. Last Friday, Lake Braddock was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 40-36 to Fairfax. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lake Braddock in their matchups with Fairfax: they've now lost four in a row.
Meanwhile, West Springfield was the victim of a rough 70-49 defeat at the hands of Alexandria City on Friday. While losing is never fun, West Springfield can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 268th, while Alexandria City is ranked 25th).
Lake Braddock has been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 15 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-19 record this season. As for West Springfield, they dropped their record down to 5-16 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Lake Braddock didn't have too much breathing room in their game against West Springfield when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 61-56 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lake Braddock since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
