There's no place like home for the Hoopeston Cornjerkers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Monday. They breezed by Chrisman at home to the tune of 60-15 on Thursday. That looming 60-15 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Hoopeston yet this season.
Chrisman's loss came despite strong showings from Taylor Jones and Jaidyn Alexander. Jones scored three points along with seven rebounds and four blocks, while Alexander scored two points along with three steals. Alexander hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games.
Hoopeston's victory bumped their record up to 17-14. As for Chrisman, they dropped their record down to 9-19 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hoopeston will take on Oakwood at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Oakwood focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 last Monday. As for Chrisman, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Heritage at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Chrisman is facing Heritage at the right time seeing as Heritage is stuck on a 11-game losing streak.
