Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Coloma). They strolled past the Saugatuck Trailblazers with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 60-42. This was payback for the Comets, who suffered a 45-22 loss the last time these two teams met.
Coloma had a senior duo take command as Treyton Myers gained 200 total yards and Maverick Kraemer threw for 270 yards and four TDs while picking up 11.3 yards per attempt.
Coloma was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 246 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Several Trailblazers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Max Page, who rushed for 292 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.4 yards per carry. Page was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 50 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Leslie, who rushed for 156 yards and a pair of scores on only 14 carries.
The win got Coloma back to even at 2-2. As for Saugatuck, their record now sits at an identical 2-2.
