Beaverton extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping them down to 9-9. They came up short against the Jesuit Crusaders, falling 23-1. The Beavers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Crusaders from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.
Beaverton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Halle LaFontaine, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI. Chloe Simpson also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
As for Jesuit, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games.
On Jesuit's side, Adalyn Rhyne was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Rhyne has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Olivia Hildreth was incredible, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 2-for-3. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mason Rethwill, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.
Coming up, Beaverton will head out to challenge Sunset at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Apollos' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Beavers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Jesuit, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Aloha at 5:00 p.m.
