The Shawnee Braves will venture away from home to challenge the Mohawk Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Shawnee took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They put the hurt on North Union with a sharp 8-2 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Braves have posted against the Wildcats since April 2, 2021.

Byanca Dubie was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with four runs and one stolen base. Those four runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lily Wilson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Emma Holland was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Mohawk came tearing into Tuesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Redmen 30-2. The Warriors' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Like Shawnee, Mohawk also got a great game from a two-way player: Aubrey Gottfried. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and only one walk). Gottfried was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Katie Woodland was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five runs, and six RBI. Another player making a difference was Mallory Brickner, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five runs, five RBI, and one triple.
Shawnee's record is now 19-2. As for Mohawk, their record now sits at 13-2.
