The Minto Lakers can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent contest on Thursday. They put the hurt on Bristol Bay with a sharp 72-47 victory. With Minto ahead 41-17 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Minto's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Andrew David led the charge by scoring 28 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points David has scored all season. Marsten Capelle was another key contributor, scoring 20 points.
Bristol Bay lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Riley Aurilia, who scored eight points.
The win makes it two in a row for Minto and bumps their season record up to 11-1. As for Bristol Bay, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.
Minto won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Wolverines at 5:00 p.m. on January 19th. Hopefully Tok focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five on Thursday. As for Bristol Bay, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Rams on January 20th. Susitna Valley is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
