The Aquinas Academy Crusaders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. Their rough 65-41 loss to Tri-State Christian might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Aquinas Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 297th in Delaware, while Tri-State Christian is ranked 86th in Maryland).
It was another big night for Jackson Sartin, who scored 17 points along with two steals for Tri-State Christian. Sartin hasn't dropped below 17 points for eight straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Farren, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
Aquinas Academy dropped their record down to 1-7 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Tri-State Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 26-4 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Aquinas Academy will take on Tome at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tri-State Christian is on the road again on Thursday and plays Middletown at 5:30 p.m. on February 8th. One thing working in Tri-State Christian's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 14 contests.
