Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the International Community Comets, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 61-60 to the Rams. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Orangewood Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ben Barber led the charge by scoring 17 points. Another player making a difference was Roby McClarnon, who scored 13 points.
International Community has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-18 record this season. As for Orangewood Christian, their win bumped their record up to 7-16.
International Community will face off against Tournament Opponent at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Orangewood Christian will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Orlando Christian Prep on February 8th. Orlando Christian Prep has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
