If the Pearl Pirates were riding high off their 73-48 takedown of the Oak Grove Warriors on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Pearl fell 68-61 to Brandon on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Brandon to victory, but perhaps none more so than Braylon Barnes, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ottis Harrison, who scored 13 points along with eight assists and five rebounds.
Pearl has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 17-11 record this season. As for Brandon, they pushed their record up to 16-10 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home.
Pearl and Northwest Rankin will face off at 5:30 p.m. on February 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Brandon does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
